Tapas Success

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our end-of-summer online event – Spanish Tapas Night with Chef Tracy Wilk of the Institute of Culinary Education. We attracted new friends, enjoyed a fun staycation together, and, most importantly, raised money to help families in need. We want to offer special thanks to Chef Tracy for sharing her time and expertise as well as Board member Nancy Goodman and Advisory Council member Amy Carron Day for organizing. Plus, we want to thank our event benefactors includingAmy Reiss, Alana Stone and Murray Public Relations.

ACOD Support Recovery Group Is Back

Parental divorce can be deeply disruptive to young adults and have a significant impact on how their adult lives evolve. There is a false message from our culture that divorce does not really impact adult children because they may be away at college, living on their own, or even married with their own children.

Starting on Tuesday, October 6, 5:30–7:00 PM, this virtual support group for Adult Children of Divorce (ACOD) via Zoom will address the specific needs of those who were 18 or older when their parents divorced. Facilitators of this group have both experienced divorce when they were young adults and are now professionals in the field. Read this flyer for more details.

ACOD Symposium and Social Set for October 30

Save Friday, October 30, for our Adult Children of Divorce (ACOD) afternoon symposium and evening social. More details will follow in the coming weeks.

Join Us as Our Peer-to-Peer Webinar Expands

Starting on Monday, September 21, 1 PM, we are officially expanding our monthly Peer-to-Peer meetings to 45 minutes so we have time to accommodate all the questions and comments from our attendees. We have had robust discussions during which valuable advice for professionals has been shared. Join us for The Role of the Review and Consulting Attorney featuring Catherine Canade, Esq. and Jo Brody, Esq.

There is no charge to attend the Peer-to-Peer webinars thanks to the generous support of our sponsors Soberlink and OurFamilyWizard.

Complimentary Zoom Parenting Class Returns

Parents who took our first Zoom Parenting Class last spring are eager to learn more parenting skills from our nationally recognized parent education expert Ellen Taner. They want to build on the positive changes they have experienced with their families and deepen their skills. Parents who were unable to attend the first class are welcome to join us now for the first time. So, back by popular demand, we will offer another seven-week class starting on Saturday, October 10, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Please mark your calendars and look for registration details soon.
