A Two-Part Virtual Event

Amplifying the Voices of Adult Children of Divorce:

PROGRAM/ATTENDEE INFORMATION

Part 1: SYMPOSIUM (12-2 PM)

Keynoter Noelle Fintshuel Oxenhandler, co-author of A Grief Out of Season: When Your Parents Divorce in Your Adult Years, experienced her parents’ divorce as an adult and will present why she and co-author, Dr. Nancy Hillard, wrote this seminal book. Noelle will share ways for adults to deal with parents getting divorced late in life and how to cope with their own distress.

Personal Stories of Adult Children of Divorce presented by Lauren Behrman, PhD, Nicole Goldstein, and Robyn Mann, Esq.

A panel will examine clips from popular television shows illustrating the ACOD experience.

Part 2: THEATER BENEFIT  (6-7:30PM)

Scenes from the groundbreaking play Grand Horizons, will be performed and playwright Bess Wohl will share her personal experiences and motivation for writing the play during a talkback. Grand Horizons expertly explores a family turned upside-down by ACOD in both funny and painfully honest ways.

Jazz pianist and prodigy, Aaron Parks, will perform selections from his two albums. At age 16, he began studying at the Manhattan School of Music and has performed with many jazz greats, most notably, Terrance Blanchard. In 2001, Parks was named the Cole Porter Fellow of the American Pianists Association.

Justin Mann, bartender extraordinaire, designed a special ACOD cocktail/ mocktail to commemorate the event. An ingredient list will be provided in advance so you can make the libation along with Justin while he shows you the flourish of a talented bartender and shares the secrets of a great cocktail.
