Recoupling and the Stepfamily. Being a stepparent is hard. Even in the best of situations, there are adjustments that need to be made — physically, financially, and emotionally. But you are not alone. Over 50% of couples are either remarried or re-coupled, often with children involved. The divorce rate for these families is more than 60%, so it is critical that the couple has an understanding of what the other is experiencing in this challenging situation. With the right strategies and tools — and patience — you can make this family structure work.
The workshop is facilitated by FamilyKind educator Linda Paul. Linda is a Stepfamily Foundation Certified Coach dedicated to helping couples navigate the complicated family dynamic of step. She is both a stepchild and a stepmother and approaches her work using this dual perspective.
Couples are highly encouraged to attend; however, solo stepparents are welcome.
